To prepare tincture of calendula at home:

  1. Take 1 tbsp. a spoonful of flowers (fresh), finely cut them. Place the calendula in a glass jar that can be tightly closed with a lid.
  2. Pour the crushed raw materials 250 gr. vodka.
  3. Place the container with the contents in a cool place with limited access to light. The infusion process lasts a week.
  4. After 7 days, strain the finished elixir.
  5. Pour it into a container convenient for you. Use as directed.

If you do not have the opportunity to use freshly cut flowers, but dry ones are available for future use, then they are also quite suitable for preparing a valuable medicine. The prepared container is filled to the top with dry raw materials and poured with an alcohol-containing liquid, for example, vodka. The preparation process takes 2 weeks.The finished product should be yellow. Calendula tincture is recommended to be stored in glass vessels.

  • Calendula has antibacterial properties, so it is widely used for diseases of the oral cavity, for example, for stomatitis. In this case, rinse your mouth with a solution of water and tincture of calendula (1 glass of water + 1 teaspoon of tincture).
  • Applying marigold tincture inside (15-20 drops), you will positively affect the choleretic process.
  • If there are problems with falling asleep, then it is recommended to use 20 drops of tincture three times a day. The course of treatment is 2 weeks.
  • Calendula tincture is an excellent remedy for fighting fungal skin lesions.
  • For burns and frostbite, lotions are made from tincture of calendula. First, the tincture must be diluted with water in proportions of 1: 2. The lotion is kept for 5-10 minutes. Further, as the pain and inflammatory symptoms are removed, the time increases to 1.5 - 2 hours a day.
  • Warm drops of tincture (1-2) are instilled into the auricle for otitis media. The solution must be diluted to a state of 10%. The procedure is carried out 2 times a day.
  • With sore throat, calendula tincture is used to gargle. Since alcohol can burn the throat, the tincture is used only in diluted form (a teaspoon per glass of water).
  • Calendula tincture treats inflammation of the female genital organs. For douching use 2% marigold tincture. It should be diluted in one glass of water. The solution must be warm. The therapy lasts a week.

In cosmetology

For hair

  • A very useful tincture of marigolds with split ends of hair, with excessive oily scalp. It has a strengthening effect on weak, prone to hair loss. Just add the tincture to the water when rinsing (1 teaspoon per liter).
  • To get rid of dandruff, you need to mix one part marigold tincture and three parts castor oil. This composition is rubbed into the scalp before the washing procedure.

To enhance the therapeutic effect for the treatment of hair and facial skin, you can add a few drops of calendula essential oil to the water infusion of calendula.

For acne on the face

  • Tincture of calendula can give a healthy and radiant appearance to the skin of the face, rid it of acne. At the same time, it is used as a wiping agent, compresses and various lotions are made on its basis, additional components are added to it. If your face is plagued by acne, try making a lotion. What's more, it's quite easy. We prepare the alcohol base from a mixture of 50 ml of alcohol, 20 ml of water, 70 ml of cologne. Fresh marigold flowers are poured into it (2 tablespoons). Don't forget to grind them. For 7 days, this composition is removed in a dark and cool place. After that, add 5 ml of a solution of boric acid in alcohol and 3 ml of glycerin to the filtered solution. The lotion is ready. It can be used twice during the day. By treating your face with the resulting composition, you thus "kill two birds with one stone": get rid of acne and carry out a wonderful prevention to combat this nuisance.
  • A lotion based on calendula and honey fights both acne and inflammatory processes in the epidermis. During the day, you must insist on the following composition: a glass of water, 2 teaspoons of honey and 2 tbsp. spoons of alcohol tincture of marigolds. It is recommended to use this lotion 2 times a day.
  • If you are “overcome” by acne, but you do not want to use lotions and masks, then you can apply calendula pointwise, treating each pimple. It is necessary to mix 50 ml of marigold tincture and salicylic alcohol, 30 ml of boric alcohol. Add chloramphenicol tablets (enough 3-4 crushed) and 5 g of medical sulfur. The entire composition is thoroughly mixed. Now they can spot treat acne using a cotton swab. Twice a day will suffice.

For oily skin

Oily skin causes many problems. To bring this process back to normal, make yourself a mask. Take a tablespoon of alcohol tincture of calendula and plain flour. Add water to make a dough, in the form of thick sour cream. Apply this mixture on your face for 15 minutes. The mask is washed off with water at room temperature. Another advantage of it is that it has a regenerating function.
